Centricide is a 2019 webseries created by Canadian YouTuber JREG. It is a political satire about a group of extremists trying to defeat centricism. The shows somewhat whacky concept and homemade production value are made up for compelling characters, interesting sociopolitical commentary and comedy, as well as many thought provoking ideas and concepts.
One of the most interesting of these concepts is an over 50 video ARG of sorts that is Centricide 7.
Other skits involving these characters have been made - called CentriSides
Various other works feature characters from / reference / are referenced in Centricide such as many of JREGs other political videos, his videos with his Clown character and the series' spiritual sucessior - The Mental Illnesses - among others.
theres way more then this but god no i am not coding all of that. go watch the series yourself, numbnuts!
Centricide was a show I was introduced to by a long term friend. I've always been a fond of YouTube comedy and the concept of one face having many personalities (mostly due to my own plurality). The way it presents complex ideas in such an engaging and easily digestable way made me have a strong interest in politics and how every system or ideology thinks and works. It's an interesting thing to look at! As well as this, I gain a strong amount of social value from a lot of JREG's art. The way he presents ideas and concepts upon layers and layers of irony means that almost no two people will have the same was of interpreting something. A comment can be funny if you take it at face value but even funnier if you take it as ironic and look deeper, even if these interpretations aren't what JREG originally ever intended. The fact that JREG is a character within his own webseries shows how he sees himself, his channel, as a character and a vessel for creating art. That he can show art in as literal or metaphorical form as he wishes, real or fake, and everyone can get something out of it. It's genius.
also this guy is mentally ill so uhh good one jreg really showed those neurotypicals whos boss!

As the former "oppunity guy", I feel like, if anyone, I am qualified to speak on this topic. This is going to be a character analysis, why I like them together, and other things about them (songs, fanfic, edits, etc.).
AnSyn and Blueman are opposites—opposites on the political spectrum and opposites in personality. AnSyn is loud, cheerful, and kind, whereas Blueman is quiet, bitter, and angry. In my opinion, they are the perfect example of "opposites attract".
Despite being opposite, they also parallel each other. They both go on the same journey in a different way (and the same can be said about Commie/AnCap in a sense). AnSyn steps back from all the chaos of the fighting to look deeper into quemself and find out what quis true ideology is. Blueman is in the midst of the chaos and fighting and has to accept that he is something he initially hates. They're both on journeys of acceptance.
A strong outside force is something that pushes both of them to make the change and accept themselves. For AnSyn, it's PolNih's nihilism beam, and for Blueman, it's ChrisCon. It's once again solidifying that idea of "we aren't so different" and the whole concept of accepting people who have differing opinions from you.
At the start of the series, AnSyn acts quite cold and snappy towards Blueman, most of which is valid due to how much of a piece of shit Blueman is towards the rest of the group. However, at the end of the series and post-centricide, AnSyn seems happy that Blueman has accepted himself and is way more receptive and kind.
Two examples of this are the CentriSides, where AnSyn gets a new hoodie and they play D&D. In the video where AnSyn gets a new hoodie, qui asks for Blueman's opinion on it. Blueman looks quem up and down and then makes a backhanded comment to which AnSyn responds, "Aww, thanks, I knew you'd hate it!". Former AnSyn wouldn't have even asked him about it, and former Blueman wouldn't have said anything or even acknowledged quis presence, most likely. In the D&D video, I think it's just cute and sweet that they'd play a TTRPG together. Former AnSyn and Blueman would not have done anything together at all unless forced (aka the Centricide). It's nice to see them both have grown past petty arguments and mindless bickering and can at least tolerate each other and do activities together or with the group.
I like the chemistry they have. How they hate each other for being so different, but despite they're differences, they're on the same path. They're the sun and the moon, yin and yang.
I do have a playlist but here's some of my favourites:
In future, I will do a breakdown-ish of sorts for why I think these songs relate to them.
I'm a fanfic hater 99% of the time, so I'll put reccs here when I get off my ass and read some.

tldr his whole character arc is about him accepting his identity and embracing it, even if its something he initially hates. i think its interesting to have such a polarising character not only be trans but also queer. it adds another layer to his character in a sense.
